Biographical/Historical Note

L.C. Jones was born in 1858 in Indiana, the son of James A. Jones, who was born about 1821 in Ohio. L.C. Jones's wife, Armena "Minnie" A. Jones, was born in 1863 in Illinois. They had a daughter, Ruth, who was born January 1888 in Arkansas. L.C. Jones was postmaster of Gillett, Arkansas, 1889-1893. He was also a Republican District Convention delegate in 1892.
