Description

This collection contains a scrapbook created by Maragaret Louise Reichardt focusing primarily on herself, family, and friends in 1921-1927. Additionally, there are loose photographs that were a part of the scrapbook, but have since detached.

Biographical/Historical Note

Margaret Louise Sims Reichardt was born in Arkansas in 1908. She grew up in Marion, Sebastian County, Arkansas, with her parents and siblings. She was a socially active person in her school and participated in many activities during these years. She was the daughter of Turner Ashby Sims, born in 1869, in the State of Missouri, and Leslie Belle Sims, born in 1876. She married George Francis Reichardt III, but they divorced in the 1940s. She later married Thomas Alton Blakeley, who passed away in 1963. After his death, Margaret remained unmarried until her death in 1986 at the age of 79.
