This collection contains a ledger book from Fulton County, Arkansas that dates between 1930-1945. An examination of the contents of the ledger appear to be that of a warrant ledger for the county of Fulton or possibly a warrant ledger for the city of Salem in Fulton County.
Biographical/Historical Note
Fulton County was formed by the Arkansas legislature from a section of Izard County on December 21, 1842. William Morris donated part of his land to be used as the county seat on July 4, 1844. This collection contains a possible treasury warrant ledger, which is an authorization of payment from the government treasury, for the county of Fulton or the city of Salem.
