Biographical/Historical Note
"Arkansas and Texas Advertiser," was a monthly newspaper a monthly, was first published at Little Rock, Arkansas in 1873, by T. B. Mills & Co. The newspaper promoted real estate and related industries that includes news and information about the state of Arkansas along with advertising. It was used as a medium to encourage immigration to Arkansas. The name of the newspaper changed to the Spirit of Arkansas, and it then became a weekly newspaper. Early in 1876, W. A. Webber became its editor and publisher, and J. B. Jordan became its associate editor. Later Major S. H. Nowlin became its editor.
