Description

This collection contains material related to World War I and collected by John Leifer. It includes printed material and correspondence from President Woodrow Wilson, members of the Treasury Department, the National Council of Defense, and the United War Work Campaign. Much of the material relates to the raising of funds for the war effort. There is also a Selective Service registration report for the Eastern District, Little Rock Registration Board.

Biographical/Historical Note

John M. Leifer was born on July 2, 1870, in Napoleon, Ohio. He was a resident of Carlisle, Lonoke County, Arkansas, during World War I. He died on October 5, 1950.
