This collection contains a pamphlet titled, Pamelia Mann: Texas Frontierswoman, about the life of Pamelia Mann.

Biographical/Historical Note

Pamelia Dickinson Mann was a pioneer and hotel operator. She was born circa 1800. She moved to Texas from Vicksburg, Mississippi, in 1834. She was married to Marshall Mann, and the two ran a boarding house at Washington-on-the-Brazos, the site of the Texas Constitutional Convention in March 1836. The Manns also ran a boarding house in Brazoria, Texas, in late-1836. In May 1836, Mann opened Mansion House in Houston, Texas. She died on November 4, 1840.
