Biographical/Historical Note
Blue and Gray Reunions were held by the citizens of Heber Springs (Cleburne County), Arkansas, after the Civil War to reunite soldiers. The reunions began in 1888 and were held annually. Both Confederate and Union veterans attended. The event included music, automobile rides, and other activities. It eventually evolved into the Old Soldiers Reunion, commemorating soldiers from multiple wars.
