This collection holds one issue of Refined Products, a publication of El Dorado High School in Arkansas. The publication contains images of the three major schools in El Dorado (Smith Avenue Grammar School, West Avenue Grammar and High School), faculty, students, and clubs.
Biographical/Historical Note
El Dorado, Arkansas, is the seat of Union County and the main center for oil production in the state of Arkansas. Oil was found in El Dorado in 1921 and this discovery led the town to grow from a population of 4,000 in 1921 to 30,000 residents by 1925. The El Dorado High School publication was named Refined Products after the main product in El Dorado, oil.
