This collection contains one photograph of Henry Taylor Bradford, Martha Jane Wilson Bradford, John H. (or Jos. H.) Bradford, and three unknown females and a funeral notice for Martha Bradford.
Biographical/Historical Note
Henry Taylor Bradford was born in Cherokee County, Georgia, on November 23, 1848, to John Hamilton Bradford and Anna Butler Bradford. He was elected to the legislature in Arkansas in 1888 and 1900 from Lonoke County and served as the elected Lonoke County judge from 1890-1894. Henry Bradford was the State Commissioner of Mines, Manufactures and Agriculture for Arkansas for two terms and organized the Arkansas agriculture exhibit for the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis. He served as a field agent for the territory of Arkansas, Louisiana, and Missouri to the United States Department of Agriculture until 1913, when he suffered a stroke, which left him unable to fulfill his duties. Martha Jane Wilson Bradford was born in Prairie County on September 13, 1850, and married Henry on October 16, 1866, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lonoke County. Martha passed away on April 7, 1918, and soon after Henry passed on June 4, 1918.
