This collection consists of one admission card to the U.S. Senate Chamber for Fadjo Cravens, dated April 16, 1912.
Biographical/Historical Note
William Fadjo Cravens was an American politician and a United States Congressman. He was born on February 15, 1899, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was the son of Arkansas Congressman William B. Cravens and Carolyn (Dyal) Cravens. He married Elizabeth B. Echols on February 16, 1926, and they had two children, Katherine Elizabeth Cravens and William Fadjo Cravens. Cravens served in World War I in the United States Navy, and then passed the Bar in 1920 and began to practice law in Fort Smith. He was later elected to the 76th United States Congress, filling the term of his father who had died in office. He was re-elected and served in Congress from September 12, 1939 to January 3, 1949. Craven died in Fort Smith on April 16, 1974.
