Description

The Foster family papers contains personal correspondence and newspaper clippings sent to Ira Foster and his wife, Inez Foster, née Pritchard, between the years of 1932 and 1967 and while they lived in Little Rock, North Little Rock, and Pine Bluff, Arkansas. This collection also contains cemetery records for the sister and brother-in-law of Inez Foster, Ioda and Ralph Daniel Templeton.

Biographical/Historical Note

Ira Beene Foster was born November 27, 1904, in Memphis, Tennessee to Ira and Sarah Henry Foster. He married Inez Pritchard on May 31, 1935. Inez Pritchard Foster was born September 13, 1908 in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Albert Lorenza Pritchard and Mary Elizabeth Stiles Pritchard. The Foster family moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, circa 1936 and owned the Foster Oil Company in Pine Bluff. They later moved to North Little Rock circa 1966. Ira died on November 2, 1967. Inez died on May 2, 1985. Both are buried at Roselawn Memorial Park in Little Rock, Arkansas.
