This collection consists of material related to various Arkansas institutions and events, three books written about Arkansas, and two maps of Arkansas.

Biographical/Historical Note

The material in this collection was collected by Charles "Chuck" Joseph Engelberger of Leesburg, Virginia. Engelberger was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. He attended the American Legion Arkansas' 23rd annual Boys State in 1963, the same class as former Arkansas Governor and U.S. President Bill Clinton. He attended college at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. He was married to Martha Ann Welch Engelberger who was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and died in Leesburg, Virginia, in 2018. They had two children, Charles and John.
