Biographical/Historical Note
The Arkansas Railroad Club (ARC), founded in 1969, is a non-profit organization of railroad and train enthusiasts. ARC operated as the Little Rock Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (NRHS), but severed ties with NRHS as of December 31, 2008. The Arkansas Railroader served as the ARC newsletter beginning in January 1970. This newsletter contained club-related information such as upcoming meeting arrangements, meeting minutes, and officer lists. Arkansas Railroader also published articles related to historic trains, railroad museums, current railway projects, and featured classified ads for train paraphernalia.
