This collection is comprised of genealogical research compiled by Peggy Bowman along with members of the Bradley County Genealogical Society. Materials include compiled research documents, correspondence, compiled historic research, various Bowman family genealogies, discs/disks, photographs, photo albums, and Bradley County Historical Society records.

Biographical/Historical Note

On November 28, 1925, Peggy Sue Quimby was born to Selvin T. and Mary Lansdale Quimby in Hermitage, Arkansas. On August 23, 1942, she married Benjamin Felton Bowman in Bradley County, Arkansas. An interior decorator by profession, Peggy owned and operated the Highway Contract Mall in Warren, Bradley County, Arkansas. She also did extensive genealogy research, primarily focusing on her own families (Quimby, Lansdale, and Bowman) and families associated with Bradley County, Arkansas. As part of the Bradley County Genealogical Society, Peggy authored several books including the Bradley County, Arkansas–Marriage Record Index: February 18, 1840–1942, Bradley County, and Arkansas Cemetery Records. Peggy Bowman died December 8, 2015, and is buried in Hickory Springs Cemetery in Hermitage, Arkansas.
