This collection contains Nancy Morton Staples' recollection of Prairie Grove and three newspaper clippings on her death.

Biographical/Historical Note

Nancy Morton Staples (1831-1921) was born in Tennessee. Her family moved to present-day the Prairie Grove area around 1835. She was a witness to the Battle of Prairie Grove when she was thirty-one years old. In her sixties, she wrote down her memories of the battle and its aftermath.
