Description
This collection contains one sworn statement of David Musick, Jefferson County, Arkansas Territory, dated October 4, 1832 and signed by Samuel Calhoun Roane, a prominent planter and Justice of the Peace for Jefferson County at that time, and older brother of John Selden Roane, who became the fourth governor of the state of Arkansas in 1849.
Biographical/Historical Note
In this document, dated October 4, 1832, David Musick asserts that he has been living on and cultivating a certain piece of land in Jefferson County since 1827, and this fact is attested to by his neighbor, William Mason.
