Description
This collection contains one promissory note from O.P. Tyler, R.C. Jones, John L. Lewis and H.B. Edmonson of Marion, Arkansas, to pay John Robertson, president of Memphis and Little Rock Railroad dated November 15, 1859.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Memphis Little Rock Railroad was constructed from 1854 and 1871. It was sold under foreclosure to the Choctaw and Memphis Railroad in 1898. The Choctaw was later purchased by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad.
