This collection contains forty-five Harvey Parnell telegrams.

Biographical/Historical Note

Harvey Parnell was born on February 28, 1880, in Orlando, Cleveland County, Arkansas. He was a farmer and politician. He served as Arkansas' 29th Governor from 1928-1933. Parnell also served eight years in the General Assembly. He served in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. He was a supporter of women's suffrage and appointed Hattie Caraway to the United States Senate. After serving as Governor, he returned to farming in 1933. Parnell died January 16, 1936 in Little Rock. He is interred at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
