This collection contains a World War I honorable discharge and enlistment record for Benjamin F. Gatlin.

Biographical/Historical Note

Benjamin F. Gatlin was born on April 26, 1891, to Robert and Laura (Beck) Gatlin. He served during WWI. Gatlin married Lessie Dell Dulin in Marion County, Ohio, on October 18, 1919. The couple had two children: James Riley Gatlin and Clarence Richard Gatlin. Gatlin is listed in the 1930 Census as living in Benton, Saline County, Arkansas. It is believed that he may also have been born in Arkansas. However, he was listed as a "disabled war veteran" living in Columbus, Ohio, in the 1940 Census. He died in Franklin County, Ohio, on August 11, 1969.
