This collection contains letters and receipts from the David C. Edmiston and the Zebulon Edmiston estates.
Biographical/Historical Note
Zebulon B. Edmiston was born on April 17, 1830. His father, David Edmiston, was born in Tennessee and came to Clark County, Arkansas, when he was thirteen. David Edmiston married Rebecca Thornton and moved to Washington County, Arkansas, in 1835. He was a farmer until his death in 1884. His wife, Rebecca, died in 1882. Zebulon Edmiston married Eunice Jane Gray on December 16, 1852. They had three sons, James P., David N., and John S. Edmiston was a farmer until 1872, when he moved to Boonsboro, Arkansas, and then became a merchant until his retirement in 1884. Zebulon Edmiston died on November 18, 1891.
