This collection contains a paper "Early Life in Mt. Hersey Along the Buffalo," written in 1988 by Armon T. Mays.
Biographical/Historical Note
Mt. Hersey is in Newton County, Arkansas and along the Buffalo, River. Armon T. Mays wrote a paper about life in Mt. Hersey between 1916 and 1926. The Mays family first settled in the area in 1828 and by 1916 Frank and Dora Mays owned the only store in Mt. Hersey.
