This collection contains papers, reports, notes and a reply to First Lady Betty Bumpers in July 1972 regarding the Arkansas Governor's Mansion and the ownership of the property over the years.

Biographical/Historical Note

In 1972, John Dewey Watson of Smith, Williams, Friday, Eldridge, and Clark wrote a reply to Arkansas First Lady Betty Bumpers in regard to the history of the Governor's Mansion Property. Included with his letter were "exhibits" featuring deeds, maps, and Acts of Arkansas to determine ownership of the property over the years.
