Biographical/Historical Note
In 1927 The Fort Smith Aircraft Company drew up a subscription agreement with individuals to purchase shares in a new corporation which would take over the properties of the Fort Smith Aircraft Company. By 1929, The Fort Smith Aircraft Company drew up a lease with Leigh Kelley, Sophronia Alexander, Fay Kelley, Maud Janney, and Katherine Alexander Brady to use the leased land as an airport.
