This collection contains a letter written by author L.S. Dunaway of Conway, Arkansas, dated October 14, 1932.
Biographical/Historical Note
Louis Sharpe Dunaway (1871-1959) was born January 10, 1871 in Conway, Arkansas. He bought the "People's Advance" in 1896 and renamed it the "Faulkner County Times." He worked for the Arkansas Democrat for ten years before working for the Arkansas Gazette where he became known as “Mr. Gazette.” Dunaway was also known as well as "Sharp" for his intellect. Dunaway became an author writing "Life and Speeches of Senator Jeff Davis," and "What a Preacher Saw Through a Keyhole in Arkansas." Dunaway was married to Lela Witt, on March 23, 1899. They had three children; Louis Sharpe, Jr., Witt Allen, and Julia Jane. Louis Sharpe Dunaway died September 3, 1959.
