This collection contains one photocopy of a letter written to Lloyd England in 1918. The letter lists veterans at Gould, Arkansas, who were looking for employment.

Biographical/Historical Note

Lloyd England was born in Lonoke, Lonoke County, Arkansas, on April 14, 1875. He graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1896 and served in the U.S. Army until 1907, when he resigned. He also served as Adjutant General of Arkansas from 1913 to 1919. He married Lenora Scott England on June17, 1908, in Pulaski County. His parents were Joseph Edley England and Alice Carence Morgan England. The town of England, Arkansas, is named after their family. England died on October 5, 1925, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and is buried in Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock.
