Description

This collection contains photocopies of two letters written between 1863 and 1865. One letter is written by a son working as a ward master in a hospital to his father and the other letter written by a soldier to his parents.

Biographical/Historical Note

Solomon Thomas worked as a ward master at the General Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1865. Ephraim Payne served with Company E, 2nd Tennessee Regiment, Confederate States Army in 1863.
