This collection contains one photocopy of a receipt from E and M Burgauer, Rockfort, Arkansas, to John W. Manning, dated October of 1867.
Biographical/Historical Note
Emanuel Burgauer was born on November 28, 1838 in Prussia. Burgauer was a Jewish Civil War veteran. He died on November 20, 1916 and is buried in Hot Springs, Arkansas. John M. Manning was born in South Carolina. He married Mary Polley Brent on February 2, 1866, in Hot Spring County, Arkansas. He served in the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, Company A. He died on October 7,1880.
