This collection contains a ledger belonging to the estate of Isaac Folsom, Lonoke County, Arkansas between 1892 and 1902.
Biographical/Historical Note
Dr. Isaac Folsom (1827-1892) was born January 10, 1827 in North Carolina. He married Sallie Puckett January June 19, 1861 in St. Francis County, Arkansas. Folsom died in Lonoke County, Arkansas September 5, 1892. As Folsom and his wife had no heirs, Folsom's will contained a $20,000 bequest for a free medical clinic for indigent patients. The Isaac Folsom Clinic was established at what is now the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences. To this day, University of Arkansas Medical Sciences diplomas note that the graduate has received instruction at the Isaac Folsom Clinic.
