This collection contains correspondence belonging to the Randolph-Snyder family as well as deeds and receipts between 1857 and 1868.
Biographical/Historical Note
Elizabeth Randolph Snyder was born to John Randolph, March 8, 1804 in Kentucky. Elizabeth Randolph had a brother John J. Snyder with whom she corresponded. She married Jeremiah Snyder May 9, 1821 in Kentucky. They had Edward Snyder, Mary Snyder, Louisa Jane Snyder, Oliver P. Snyder, John Snyder, and William F. Snyder. Their daughter Mary Snyder married John C. Newton September 8, 1864. Oliver P. Snyder born November 13, 1833 in Missouri moved to Arkansas in 1853. Oliver P. Snyder would go on to serve as representative from Arkansas between 1871-1875.
