This collection contains correspondence, biographical notes, legal documents, and printed materials related to the Ben H. and the Ben H.J. Scull families of Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas.
Biographical/Historical Note
The Sculls were among the earliest settlers of Arkansas Post. Ben H. Scull, owner and editor of the Pine Bluff Press-Eagle, married Lelia Murray. He inherited the Press-Eagle from his Uncle Arthur Murray, who founded the Pine Bluff newspaper. Ben and Lelia had four children including Ben H.J. Scull, who was born June 20, 1888, and died April 1967, in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas.
