Biographical/Historical Note

John Kirkbridge Potts was born March 24, 1803 in Pennsylvania. His family moved to New Jersey in 1812. He moved to Arkansas in 1820 where he married Pamelia Logan on February 10, 1829. They settled in Pope County, Arkansas and completed the house that would be used by the Butterfield Overland Stagecoach route and known at "Potts Inn" in 1858. The house in now on the National Register of Historic Places.
