This collection contains two sworn statements regarding the marriage of Theodosia Wilcox at Fort Massac, Illinois.
Biographical/Historical Note
Theodosia Wilcox and Thomas Wilson were married in June 1794 by a Methodist Preacher Mr. Towels. Questions arose over the validity of the marriage and Zebulon Pike Senior, commanding officer at Fort Massac, Illinois renounced the marriage.
