Description
This collection contains material on the school system at the Rohwer, Arkansas, Japanese Relocation Center, newspapers from the senior and junior high schools, school yearbooks from 1943 and 1944, and "The Outpost" (post newspaper). It also contains coursework and other material from John Albert Trice's time at Peabody College for Teachers relating to his Doctor of Education degree that he received from there.
Biographical/Historical Note
Dr. John Albert Trice was born on November 29, 1906. Dr. Trice served as Superintendent of Schools at the Japanese Relocation Center, Rohwer, Arkansas, during World War II. Dr. Trice also served as Supervisor of Instruction for the State Department of Education, and was Superintendent of Schools in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, from 1957 until his death on August 8, 1967.
