This diary was written by Alda Smith of Marshall.

Biographical/Historical Note

Alda Smith was born in 1883 in Clay County, Tennessee. She moved to Arkansas with her family in 1886, and wrote this diary when she lived in Marshall, Arkansas. She married Hugh G. Treece on April 20, 1904. Treece served as Searcy County Judge and Sheriff.
