Biographical/Historical Note

Anita Ellen Turner was born in Paragould, Arkansas, on June 26, 1896. Her brother, William Howard A. Turner, was born August 2, 1900. Their mother, Laura Abner, died in December 1957. Anita E. Turner held office in several organizations. including the Arkansas Pioneer Branch of the National League of American Pen Women, Arkansas Authors' and Composers' Society, and others. She taught piano and voice. She died July 1, 1982, in Little Rock, Arkansas.
