Description

This collection contains a letter concerning the proposed military trial of Mr. Butler, a bill of sale for a slave woman named Sarah, and the will of John W. Walker, with William N. Parish as executor.

Biographical/Historical Note

John W. Walker (1807-1865) was a native of Virginia. He was a long-time resident of Pulaski County, Arkansas, owning land and many slaves. He and his wife Henrietta had several children and their oldest daughter Sarah Augusta married Worden Pope.
