Biographical/Historical Note

Reverend Josiah Trent (1801-1876) was orphaned at a young age. He moved to northwest Arkansas, near Fayetteville (Washington County), at age twenty-seven. He married Sarah Woolsey in 1832. In 1853, he established the first Methodist church in northwest Arkansas, in his home.
