Biographical/Historical Note
William Shepperd was born around 1788 in North Carolina. He married Mary A. Haywood, also of North Carolina. They moved to Giles County, Tennessee, before settling in west Tennessee. He became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He died October 21, 1835, in Hardeman County, Tennessee.
