Description
Letter from Georgia "Baby" Passmore at St. Mary's Academy in Little Rock to her mother, Elizabeth Chapline Passmore, in Hot Springs. Georgia was about ten years old when she wrote this letter.
Biographical/Historical Note
Mount Saint Mary's Academy is a Catholic girl's school founded by the Sisters of Mercy in Little Rock in 1851. The school is still in operation and is Arkansas's oldest educational institution teaching today.

Little Rock April 30th 1877
My dear Mama,
I received your
letter, and was so glad to get it.
Mamma, tell Papa to get me
the pony. Mama, I want a pr
of shoes, and some stamps.
Mamma, give my love to Hattie.
Mamma, how is Miss Larty? give[sic]
her my love. Good bye, love to
all, write soon to.[sic]
