Mrs. S.S. Wassell
Little Rock, Ark.
Dear Mrs. Wassell
Judge
Turner Butler of
Hamburg is being
opposed for a second
term to the office of
Judge of this Judicial
Circuit by a Mr.
Bradham of Warren.
A majority of the
women here are
inclined to support
Judge Butler if his
attitude towards
womans[sic] suffrage
has been what it
should have been.
We have heard
indirectly that his
attitude while in
the Legislature a
good many years
ago was very
favorable.
I have an idea
that you are familiar
with his record along
this line and if I am
correct in this, I would
appreciate it if you
would write me in
a way that would
not embarrass you
for me to make same
public among my
friends.
My position is if a
man's record shows
that he has been fav-
orable towards womans[sic]
suffrage we should
let the women know
about it, and visa
verse.
Sincerely yours
Mrs. Ohmer C. Burnside
