Furlough approval for Private F.C. Welch of Company B, Monroe's Regiment, Arkansas Cavalry.
Transcription
To all whom it may concern
The bearer hereof F C Welch a private
of Captain J O Echol's Company "B" Col Monroes Rgt
of Arkansas Cavalry aged ___ years five feet 8 inches
high dark complexion grey eyes black hair and by
profession a farmer; born in the State of Alabama
and enlisted at Hampton Arkansas on the 12th day
of May 1862 to [illegible] for the period of three years or the
war is hereby permitted to go to his home in the
custody of [illegible] State of Texas be having
received a furlough from the 27th day of March to
the 14th day of May[,] he being 350 miles distant
from his [illegible] at the expiration of which [illegible]
he will rejoin his command at this camp of where
[illegible] it there may be or be considered a deserter
[illegible] had been furnished said
private to date and pay to the 1st Sept 1863
Given under my hand at Camp in the Field
Bosier[sic] Parish La this 27th March 1865

I certify on honor that there are 34 men present for duty
duty[sic] in the Company and 15 on detached service and are on
furlough entitling the Co. four furloughs of which this
is ours
