Description

Letter from Captain R.T. Banks to Colonel E.P. Turner. Banks writes that two men serving in Company B, Monroe's Regiment, Cabell's Brigade belong to one of his companies and that Holderness wants to know their whereabouts because he wants the men arrested.

now serving in Co(B) Monroes Regt Cabells Brigade
Belonging in my Co(H) of the 20th Arks Regt now Cons'd,
forming the 10th Co. 3rd Regt, McNairs Brigade.
There [sic] names are
T.J. Purtle
G.W. Hall
Purtle left this command abut [sic] the time is was Dismantled
Hall left in June or July 1862, Deserted from the Hospital
and came to this Department a [illegible]
