Photograph of officers from the 60th U.S. Colored Infantry. Officers listed are Captain Deane, Quartermaster McQueen, Lieutenant Tisdale, Lieutenant Hussey, Major T.W. Pratt and Lieutenant Bradley.

Biographical/Historical Note

The 60th U.S. Colored Infantry was a unit made up of black soldiers and white officers. It was organized from the First Iowa Infantry, African Descent. Much of their service was in Arkansas.
