Description
This document is a receipt for funds paid to William E.Woodruff by W. Coxe Dusenbury, attorney for Robert Van Renselasr. The full amount being handled was $663.88. Rutherford authenticated the receipt by signing the bottom of the document.

A. H. Rutherford operated as the financial receiver of the Bank of the State of Arkansas through the years of the Civil War.

Little Rock, Ark. May 8th , 1862
Received, in persuance of the act of Congress of the Confederate
States of America, approved August 30th, 1861, and an act to
alter and amend said act approved February 15th 1862, of William
E. Woodruff, Esg, of Little Rock, Ark., the sum of six hundred and
eighty dollars and ninety cents, being an account collected by
him as his account rendered [and], and in favor of W.
Coxe Dusenbury, Atty of Robert I. Van Reuselasr. N. G.
Amount now received $ 680.90

Leaves $ 663.88
