Biographical/Historical Note

Major Joseph Walker served in the 10th Missouri Infantry, U.S. He fought in the Battle of Iuka, Mississippi, September 19, 1862, and the Battle of Corinth, Mississippi, October 4, 1862. Walker and the 10th Missouri spent the winter of 1862-1863 camped near Memphis.
