Description

Photograph of the steamboat Des Arc on fire on the White River near DeValls Bluff with Gunboat 25 nearby. The Des Arc's construction began in Paducah, Kentucky, in 1860 and was finished in Memphis by 1862. After the war, the steamboat was rebuilt and continued to run on the White River until 1871.
