This is a black and white photograph of Mr. Hugh Simmons and the New Farmers of America (NFA) students at Okolona Colored High School (Simmons High School) in Okolona, circa 1950.

Biographical/Historical Note

Simmons High School was originally named Okolona Colored High School, but the name was changed to Simmons High School in 1969 because of school integration. The group's name, New Farmers of America, was changed to Future Farmers of America.
