Detailed list of maimed soldiers from Woodruff County during the American Civil War.

Biographical/Historical Note

These documents, arranged by county, list the return of maimed soldiers for 31 of the 57 existing counties in the State of Arkansas in 1867. These soldiers were entitled to artificial limbs under Section 10 of the “Act to Provide for the Support of Wounded and Disabled Soldiers, and for the Support of Indigent Widows and Children of Deceased Soldiers, and Relief of Indigent Families of the State, and to Furnish Artificial Limbs for Maimed Soldiers, and other Purposes Named” of 1867.
