The first free school in Jonesboro, Craighead County. It was located on North Fisher Street and founded in 1886 by William Puryer, Jerry Smith, and Dr. C.B. Hurton. Image originally owned by H.W. Wilkins who had been principle of the school. Written description on back of photo.
