Biographical/Historical Note
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is a public research university in Little Rock, Arkansas. It was established by the Little Rock School District in 1927 as Little Rock Junior College. In 1957, it became a private four-year university under the name Little Rock University. It became a public institution again in 1969 when it merged with the University of Arkansas System. At that time, it was given its current name the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
